چکیده

This study investigates the use of industrial wastes like Fly Ash (FA), Ground Granulated Blast-furnace Slag (GGBS), and Quartz Powder (QP) as alternatives to cement, Copper (CS) fine aggregate in Geopolymer blocks (GPB). The mix ratio 1:3 one part binder 3 parts copper slag, 8M, 10M NaOH, Na2SiO3 solutions are used Alkaline Activator Solution (AAS). Two types GPB1 (Mortar Blocks) GPB2 (Aerated produced. binders FA, GGBS, QP, CS tested find fineness, specific gravity, absorption capacity. A suitable percentage added together dry-mixed a mortar mixing machine for each separately. fresh is placed moulds, compacted an oven at 60°C-70°C 24 hours. compressive strength mixes found performing compression testing, maximum 82.50 MPa achieved when 100% GGBS 10.54MPa 70% FA 30% QP used. Aerated block M1 shows better 12.66 curing after hours, 10.95MPa ambient 7 days. increase Mortar1 increases strength, Mortar2 but it very low compared Mortar1.

Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag

1. Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBFS) is a by product of the steel industry. Blast furnace slag is defined as “the non-metallic product consisting essentially of calcium silicates and other bases that is developed in a molten condition simultaneously with iron in a blast furnace.” [1] In the production of iron, blast furnaces are loaded with iron o...

Properties of Foamed Mortar Prepared with Granulated Blast-Furnace Slag

Foamed mortar with a density of 1300 kg/m³ was prepared. In the initial laboratory trials, water-to-cement (w/c) ratios ranging from 0.54 to 0.64 were tested to determine the optimal value for foamed mortar corresponding to the highest compressive strength without compromising its fresh state properties. With the obtained optimal w/c ratio of 0.56, two types of foamed mortar were prepared, name...

Stimulation Behaviour Study on Clay Treated with Ground Granulated Blast Slag and Groundnutshell Ash

The major decision in construction process involves the selection of suitable site with best soil conditions, as structure resides in the soil. Most problematic soils like expansive soils hardly proved to be the best engineering subgrade profile for pavement constructions. Thus, this has undeniably led to the soil improvement options accompanying the reduction in resource depletion and solid wa...

Effect of Blast Furnace Slag Powder and Fly Ash on Durability of Concrete Mixed with Seawater

According to the report of the United Nations, it is said that two-third of world population would be influenced by water shortage before 2050. To use fresh water effectively, the usage of seawater in concrete industry seems imperative. However, the usage of seawater as concrete material is prohibited in almost all the standards or specifications around the world. In this article, the usage of ...

Improvement of Early Strength of Cement Mortar Containing Granulated Blast Furnace Slag Using Industrial Byproducts

In the field of construction, securing the early strength of concrete (on the first and third days of aging) has been an important problem in deciding the mold release time (i.e., shortening the construction time period). Therefore, the problem of reduced compressive strength in the early aging stage caused by mixing granulated blast furnace slag (GBFS) with concrete must certainly be resolved....
